Shipping & Delivery Information
Each Shop within Smooth Pebbles can offer various shipping and delivery options (free and paid), as well as local pickup if that is feasible too. Not all Shops will offer all methods, as the nature of their goods and their locations needs to be considered by the Shop owners.
The shipping options chosen by a Shop for a particular item can be seen on the right-hand panel under “Shipping” and during checkout in your Basket. Smooth Pebbles will efficiently group multiple items you wish to purchase, per Shop, into a minimum number of packages and bill you accordingly. Once an order is completed, the Shop owner has the responsibility of entering a tracking number to keep any customer informed regarding their order.
Here are the shipping and delivery methods available to Shops within Smooth Pebbles – please consult with the relevant Shop if you wish to know more of how that Shop is implementing any of these:
Deliveries within South Africa
Delivery via the Post Office is counter-to-counter (using Ordinary parcel post). A tracking number will be e-mailed to you and you will have to go to your nearest Post Office and collect your parcel with your ID document. Your destination Post Office will be based on your shipping address used at the time of placing your order. We cannot accept responsibility for orders shipped via SA Post Office that are held up at their depots for any reason nor will we accept responsibility for items arriving damaged should you choose this method of delivery. If you are ordering fragile products, we would strongly recommend that you select courier as a delivery method.
Estimated time of delivery: 5 working days (excluding public holidays)
Speed Services provide an overnight service from Post Office counter-to-counter. A tracking number will be e-mailed to you and you will have to go to your nearest Post Office and collect your parcel with your ID document. Your destination Post Office will be based on your shipping address used at the time of placing your order. If you are ordering fragile products, we would strongly recommend that you select courier as a delivery method.
Estimated time of delivery: 1-2 working days (excluding public holidays)
The courier companies typically deliver to the following major city centres: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London, Polokwane, Witbank and Bloemfontein and their related outlying areas (those outside a 50km radius of the major city centres). The courier companies usually doesn’t deliver to: chain stores, mines, power stations, farms, townships, game reserves or national parks and hospitals.
Please use the other delivery options for areas not covered by the courier company.
Delivery is for weekdays only. Please note the courier companies doesn’t deliver to Post Office boxes.
Major city centres:
Estimated time of delivery to areas within 50km radius of major city centres: 1-3 working days (excluding public holidays)
Estimated time of delivery to outlying areas (outside of 50km radius of major city centres): 2-3 working days (excluding public holidays)
For the purposes of verification, we will be entitled to require the person accepting delivery at the delivery address to produce a form of identification. On delivery, the person accepting delivery shall be required to sign and print his/her name as against a duplicate copy of the delivery note, to confirm receipt of the delivery.
Not withstanding the above, any person other than yourself who receives the goods at the delivery address is conclusively presumed to be authorised to accept delivery on your behalf.
All international deliveries are subject to import and custom laws of that country and we can not be held responsible if a parcel is held or confiscated due to these laws. All international deliveries are via Airmail and can take up to 10 working days (excluding public holidays) for delivery. We only deliver smaller parcels weighing up to 3kg via Airmail.
